Description
A full year of 4th grade grammar in 10–15 minutes a day: 36 weeks of TEKS-aligned mentor sentence lessons, doodle notes, practice pages, and STAAR-style quizzes.
This grammar bundle includes 36 weeks of grammar instruction, lessons, handouts, practice, and doodle notes. If you’re not sure about certain grammar concepts, that’s ok! The diagrammed sentence pages for each week’s unit along with the doodle notes prepare you to teach each week!
Teach grammar in 10-15 minutes each day with this five-day instructional sequence! You will introduce a new concept or review concept each week, provide the doodle note pages for student binders or grammar interactive notebooks, have students manipulate mentor sentences, hunt for examples, practice specific skills, and bridge to their own writing. There is also a focused STAAR practice page or quiz for each week of instruction!
⭐ The Daily Instructional Sequence:
- Day One: Sentence strips to cut and glue into a notebook. Introduce a new grammar skill.
- Day Two: Hunt for examples of the skill in literature.
- Day Three: Students manipulate the sentence to create different structures. A skills practice page is also included (with answer key).
- Day Four: Dictation: students listen to the sentence read aloud and write it correctly. You check it together using the criteria provided.
- Day Five: Students write their own sentence using the mentor sentence as a model, plus a short quiz (3-5 questions) in STAAR format.
