How Do You Do It All? Tiering Teachers for Instructional Support, Ep. 60 Buzzing with Ms. B: The Coaching Podcast
You can’t do it all, even if you’re expected to!
Each teacher needs individualized support, but there are only so many hours in the day.
When we taught in the classroom, we prioritized our goals and differentiated our instruction. It’s the same with instructional coaching.
In this episode, I walk you through the steps I take to make sure every teacher gets what they need. This is a real strategy that made a huge impact on my campus.
This approach begins by examining available data. Next, three teacher tiers are created based on the needs of each group.
The level of assistance each teacher receives is based on their tier. The type of support varies, but there are lots of opportunities for everyone to grow professionally.
I use my Coaching Cycle Document with my third-tier teachers to set goals and follow up. It’s helped me be more consistent and focused on the specific work that needs to be done with each teacher. Sign up to get your free copy below.
