Mentor Sentences Grammar Notebook – NEW TEKS and Texas Writing Test Alignment

This document is an TEKS alignment for my Fourth Grade Mentor Sentences Program for Texas schools. There are four nine weeks in the program. Each nine weeks focuses on important skills and strategies for revision and editing and is aligned to the new 2023 TEKS assessed curriculum for the Texas ELA test!

This free download provides an overview and a planning scope and sequence guide to help teachers plan long-term for their conventions instruction to prepare students for fifth grade and the Texas State Writing Test.

Several different formats are included for different planning purposes.

• First Nine Weeks: Sentence structure
• Second Nine Weeks: More grammar, capitalization and punctuation
• Third Nine Weeks: Spelling patterns
• Fourth Nine Weeks: Figurative language

By following the entire year-long program, you will address all the tested TEKS for the writing test.
