Description

Easy to make signs to use during interactive read alouds. Students hold up their sign as you get a part that relates to the topic of their sign: character analysis, fiction summary elements, character traits, and more! These signs include sentence starters to help students share their thinking!

These signs are designed to do exactly that grow students’ listening comprehension and discussion skills and keep read aloud fun while making it purposeful! Each student (or pair of students) receives a sign. This is their purpose for listening to the read aloud. As the teacher reads, students raise their signs when they find evidence of their purpose for listening, and share their thinking using the provided speaking stems.

There are four different sets of read aloud cards in this product, along with book suggestions and tips and ideas for using the read aloud signs. Each sign includes an image on the front to help students remember their purpose for reading. On the back are tips for students about the definition of their sign and a sentence frame to use when they are sharing their evidence from the read aloud.
