Life Science Partner Plays about organisms and environments

Description

Stop using boring passages and have some science fun with these nine different partner plays reinforcing scientific concepts of living and nonliving things, interactions between species, ecosystems, food webs, adaptations, inherited traits and more! Fifth grade students love learning science with these reader’s theater scripts!

These plays are each two pages long, written for two readers in grades 4-5.

The resources includes a TEKS alignment included for Fifth Grade Science TEKS. Each play also a vocabulary sheet to pre-teach vocabulary and a space for students to sketch the meaning of the words as they read. These are the nine plays included:

The Junior Ranger Badge: An aspiring Junior Ranger identifies living and nonliving things and their interactions to earn her badge. (5.9A) Vocabulary: living, nonliving, environment, interact, organism, survive, thrive, observe, interdependence, needs, symbiotic relationship

The Wetlands Web: A hawk and a fungi discuss their roles in the food web and identify the sun as the source of energy (5.9B) Vocabulary words: ecosystem, consumer (primary/secondary/tertiary/quaternary), population, role, food web, decomposer, niche, producer, energy transfer
