Coaching with Fewer Meetings: Texts, Video, Ep. 165 Instructional Coaching with Ms. B

I recently shared an Instagram post about coaching cycles and teachers responded to it. They were NOT my intended audience. I was talking to instructional coaches, but teachers let me know they had a lot of feelings about coaching cycles.
One responded, not if it means more meetings on my time! And I get it! Teachers are swamped and being asked to do stuff that is unreasonable. That’s why so many are leaving the profession. But, learning still needs to happen. We can’t just say we’re not going to coach right now because teachers are too busy. That doesn’t work!
So, what can coaches do? In this episode of The Coaching Podcast, I give you ideas for coaching with fewer meetings. The things I share won’t replace PLCs or other team meetings, but they will help you identify some creative ways to work with individual teachers and think beyond the traditional coaching cycle.
Coaching With Fewer Meetings: Using Texts, Video
During the episode, I share tips and strategies for coaching teachers with fewer meetings. You’ll get ideas for using texts, video, and other technology to leverage your time with teachers without being in the same room. I also share how to maximize the time you spend with teachers when you’re modeling or co-teaching. You’ll get to know the benefits of using a coaching menu. Plus, learn how to use technology to create flexibility and meet teachers where they are right now, rather than following a formal coaching cycle.
For busy teachers, coaching doesn’t have to mean more meetings. There are things you can do and technology to help make it easier to coach teachers with fewer face-to-face meetings. In this episode, I give you practical tips and ideas to coach with fewer meetings so you can accommodate your teachers’ demanding schedules
